In the theatre you have the time to zoom in on things you don’t take the time for in everyday life. This performance is a slow focus on physicality. We show a form of intimacy that for most people is not very natural because of our rational culture. An almost animal physical experience. We invite everyone to take the time. And to look. VICTOR est le résultat de la première collaboration entre le chorégraphe Jan Martens et le comédien Peter Seynaeve. Dans VICTOR, ce sont les corps qui parlent. VICTOR tente d’effacer les perceptions floues que l’on a du corps d’un enfant et de sa relation à un adulte. En raison de ce thème fragile, il est important de ne pas clarifier la relation qui les lie. On voit simplement un homme et un enfant qui transforment leurs corps pour devenir des animaux, des statues ou des images…
In VICTOR, it’s the bodies that speak. VICTOR looks to rub out the hazy perceptions of a child’s body and of how it relates to an adult. Because of the sensitive topic, it is important not to clarify their relationship. All there is is a man and a child, transforming their bodies to become animals, statues, and pictures…
