PROGRAMMATION EN COLLABORATION AVEC LE PROGRAMME COMMUN

Inspiré par Fin de partie de Samuel Beckett, le duo de Tabea Martin explore la question de sa propre fin. Comment notre corps réagit il face à l’état final, comment surmonte-il l’angoisse et les voies sans issues ? Le texte de Beckett, se situe à la fin des temps, après le crépuscule du monde. Les humains sont à la recherche d’une issue, en vain : l’état final succède à l’impossibilité de la fin et à l’éternelle répétition. Les personnages sont soumis à l’enlisement ou à la disparition. Mais l’humour et l’absurdité permettent de contrebalancer cet état fondamental. La danseuse et chorégraphe bâloise Tabea Martin développe ce duo avec la complicité de la danseuse italienne Simona Bertozzi et remonte sur scène pour l’occasion. This is my last dance est la première d’une série de chorégraphies autour de la mort, de l’infini et de l’inconnu.

Tabea Martin est née en 1978 en Suisse, elle étudie la danse contemporaine à la Haute école d’art d’Amsterdam et travaille en Hollande pour Piet Rogie & Company, à Stuttgart chez Fabian Chyle et en Irlande avec Nick Bryson. Elle a bénéficié d’une bourse au SNDO à Amsterdam et termine en 2006 ses études de chorégraphie à la Rotterdamse Dansacademie.

Based on Samuel Beckett’s The End, Tabea Martin’s duo addresses the question of its own end. How does our body react in the face of the end state? How does it overcome anxiety and dead-ends? Beckett’s text unfolds at the end of times, after the twilight of the world. Humans seek a way-out, in vain: The end state comes after the impossibility of an end and eternal repetition. The characters get stuck or disappear. But humour and absurdity compensate for this fundamental state. Basle-born dancer and choreographer Tabea Martin returns to the stage for this duo, which she has developed with the complicity of Italian dancer Simona Bertozzi. This is my Last Dance is the first in a series of dance shows that focuses on death, infinity and the unknown.

Tabea Martin was born in 1978 in Switzerland. She studied dance at Amsterdam University of the Arts before working with Piet Rogie & Company in the Netherlands, Fabian Chyle in Stuttgart and Nick Bryson in Ireland. She received a scholarship from the SNDO in Amsterdam and graduated in 2006 with a degree in choreography from the Rotterdamse Dansacademie.
